Which truck are you dying to try?
Ten local food-truck vendors will set up shop downtown next week as part of an event to promote their emerging businesses. The food truck event will be held Tuesday, April 24, outside Louisville Metro Hall. Louisville Dessert Truck, Holy Mole, Get It On a Bun at Booty’s, San Diego Sandwich Works, Genius In a Box, Grind, One Hot Tamale, The Traveling Kitchen, Red’s Comfort Foods and Bar B Lou are slated to attend Tuesday’s event, which is sponsored by Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer’s office.
The trucks will be outside Metro Hall, at Sixth and Jefferson streets, between 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.
There's an article on Wave3's site about Metro government compromising with the local food trucks to help keep them running. Instead of every employee needing a Vendor ID (which requires a background check), only one ID per truck would be needed. This should alleviate some of the cost to operate. Do you think this is enough?

Restaurant owners in Calgary are learning the potential of cooperating with food trucks and several are inviting the trucks to park close to or even at the restaurant.
"The more people that come down to the area, the better it is for everybody," said MacFayden. "The food trucks are garnering a lot of attention right now and all it's going to do is bring more people down to 17th Avenue, and that's what we really need right now."
Some aren't so sure.
"It's not that we don't support food trucks," said Rempel. "For now, it's playing it a little bit safe so you don't just turn on the faucet full force."
